Job Description:

CDM Smith is seeking a Management Specialist to primarily support FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Technical Assistance Program, FEMA’s Public Assistance Program, and other related contracts with the U.S. This opportunity is slated for an emerging professional ready to take on increasing responsibilities under the mentorship of more senior staff. Projects include providing technical assistance to FEMA grant programs, engineering services, policy and guidance development support, and environmental compliance activities with both HQ and the Regions. Projects are located throughout the U.S. and its territories.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting technical and programmatic support to multiple FEMA programs nationwide.

  • Supporting Project Managers in the execution of projects to successfully meeting required scope, schedule and budget.

  • Providing direct support to clients and program stakeholders.

  • Serving as a technical and programmatic resource for other staff in the development of quality deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline; MBA/MA degree preferred.

  • 7-10 years of work related experience; specialized knowledge of management consulting practices, supervisory capability and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous FEMA program experience.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to pass an FBI background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous FEMA Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation Assistance, RiskMAP and/or Building Science experience.

  • Knowledge of FEMA’s Benefit Cost Analysis Tool.

  • P.E. (Professional Engineer) and/or Certified Floodplain Manager certification.
