CDM Smith Client Service Leader - Transportation in Lansing, Michigan

Job Description:

CDM Smith currently has an exciting opportunity for a Client Service Leader in our Michigan transportation market to join our North Transportation group. In this position, you will lead client engagement, client service management, strategic marketing, and business development, for our Michigan transportation clients. Our services within Michigan include roadway/highway design, traffic engineering, transportation planning, environmental planning, and transit projects.

* We are open to considering candidates to work in either our Detroit or Lansing MI offices.*

As a member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith’s mission by:

•Developing new business and maintaining high-value relationships with transportation clients of all modes in the Michigan market, including the Michigan Department of Transportation, City/County agencies, transit agencies, as well as others.

•Leading large complex transportation projects.

•Generating creative engagement strategies and pursuit plans.

•Developing and managing proposal efforts, presentations, and taking the lead in contract negotiations including, but not limited to terms, conditions, scope, and budget.

•Working effectively with Project Managers and key Technical Specialists working for their clients to deliver quality projects.

•Being active in professional societies in which clients or potential clients are members.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering OR Bachelors degree in Planning (or related field) required.

•Registration as a Professional Engineer in MI for candidate with an engineering background or AICP certification or Masters degree for candidates with a planning background.

•At least 15 years of experience since obtaining Bachelors degree.

•Previous experience managing major transportation projects and/or winning transportation business with MDOT/City/County/transit clients.

•Excellent communication, networking and team building skills.
