CDM Smith Water Resources Engineer 6 in Kansas City, Missouri
CDM Smith is actively seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer in our Kansas City, MO office. With high-level goals provided, this position will perform basic to high complexity calculations, modeling, data analysis, designs, on site evaluations and/or other similar evaluations for water resources projects (Ex: climate change adaptation; collection systems; CSOs; dams; drainage; economics and planning; ecosystem restoration; flood management; green infrastructure; groundwater; hydrology and hydraulics; integrated resource planning; irrigation; open channels; outfalls; planning; pressure conduits; probability and risk analysis; stream, rivers and wetlands; stormwater management; urban watersheds; water law and regulations; watershed management. Signs and seals designs and other work as necessary. Projects are local, statewide and federal. Position will require use of cutting-edge techniques and designs that will impact future projects regionally and globally.
Responsibilities for this position include the following:
Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct a number of large and important projects or a project of major scope and complexity. Including an ability to evaluate progress and obtained results, and recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives.
Acting independently on technical matters pertaining to your specialty field.
Professionally present yourself as a positive face of CDM Smith to current and potential clients.
Support new business development activities within your areas of expertise.
Perform as a recognized leader of technical and professional staff.
Serve as a mentor to junior level staff.

CDM Smith Employment Type:
Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, coastal or chemical engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license.
Experience: 10 years of related experience.
Travel: Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
