Job Description:

Job Objective: In consultation with local senior management, plans, implements, and supervises Health and Safety programs for assigned municipal/industrial construction projects in compliance with corporate safety program standards and applicable State and Federal Regulations for municipal and government construction projects.

Primary Responsibilities

1 Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities

through safety inspections

• Follow‐up by direct contact with company and subcontractor

supervisory personnel

2 Supervise and administer health/safety and first aid activities directly

related to construction site Health and Safety, including work assignments,

personnel administration, staffing, training, etc. Assist corporate program

by developing and conducting employee and craft safety orientation

training and site‐specific training related to specific project

3 Report, investigate, and document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe


• Review confined space entry and “hot work” permits as required

4 Conduct work‐area surveillance inspections, air sampling tests for confined

space entry, property damage and personal injury investigations and other

safety monitoring and inspections as required

5 Review project documentation to ensure all required records and reports

are complete, accurate, and submitted for project records per established


• Implement appropriate corrective action as required

6 Accompany all health, safety, and insurance inspectors on walk‐through

tours of the project

7 Maintain confidentiality in record keeping, investigating and reporting

8 Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health/Safety or related or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience: Minimum 3 years municipal/industrial construction site safety experience.

CHST or CSP desired

Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and company regulations;

Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential;

Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality; Lead toolbox and site‐specific safety training

Spanish desirable
