Job Description:

CDM Smith currently has an exciting opportunity for a Client Service Leader in our Connecticut transportation market to join our North Transportation group. In this position, you will lead client engagement, client service management, strategic marketing, and business development, for our Connecticut transportation clients. We have been working in the CT transportation market for nearly 20 years and our services within CT include; bridge design, roadway/highway design, traffic engineering, complete streets and transit oriented development, tolling analysis and implementation , transportation & freight planning, environmental planning, and transit projects.

As a member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith’s mission by:

•Developing new business and maintaining high-value clients and relationships with transportation clients of all modes in the Connecticut market, including the Connecticut Department of Transportation, regional planning agencies, municipalities, as well as others.

•Leading large complex transportation projects.

•Generating creative engagement strategies and pursuit plans.

•Developing and managing proposal efforts, presentations, and taking the lead in contract negotiations including, but not limited to terms, conditions, scope, and budget.

•Working effectively with Project Managers and key Technical Specialists working for their clients to deliver quality projects.

•Being active in professional societies in which clients or potential clients are members.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field.

•Registration as a Professional Engineer in CT (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).

•At least 15 years of transportation engineering experience since obtaining Bachelors degree.

•At least 10 years of experience working on CTDOT projects.

•Strong working relationship with CTDOT Department heads and leadership.

•Strong references from the CTDOT and a demonstrated successful track record for CT transportation sales and project delivery with a strong working knowledge of business operations and financials.

•Excellent communication, networking and team building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Relationships with CT municipalities, RPAs, MPOs transit agencies and local universities.
